Lasell Field Hockey Posts Fourth Shutout with 7-0 Win over Anna Maria

The Lasell College field hockey team continued its impressive start to the season with a 7-0 victory over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon at Grellier Field.

Collectively, the Lasers have yielded just one goal against thus far.

Both Cailin Flannery (Medford, N.J.) and sophomore Samantha Taylor (Hanover, Mass.) had multi-goal performances, contributing two goals apiece in the conference victory.

Taylor opened up the scoring for the Lasers in the 3rd minute of play of an assist from Nikki Pignone (Ipswich, Mass.) Less than two minutes later Erica Connors (South Berwick, Maine) scored off a corner to put the Lasers up 2-0.

In the 13th minute, Pignone scored off the rebound to give the Lasers a 3-0 lead, which they took into halftime.

Lasell controlled the entire second half, adding four more goals to secure the win, including one from senior Erin Murray (Lexington, Mass.) in the 53rd minute.

Denise Landry (New Milford, Conn.) had one save for the Lasers, and recorded her second shutout of the season.
