Lasell Senior Garners NFHCA All-New England Region Honors

2017 Dec 4

Senior goalkeeper Denise Landry (New Milford, Conn.) was named to the Longstreth National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-New England East Region Second Team, as announced by the national office Wednesday afternoon.

Landry's selection marks the first NFHCA All-Region selection in Lasell history. Landry joins just two other GNAC student-athletes to make the All-Region team, joining Libby Pomerleau & Hayley Winslow of Saint Joseph's College of Maine. All three earned All-GNAC First Team honors.

Named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Year last month, Landry recorded 86 saves and held a league-leading .835 save percentage. In her senior campaign, Landry allowed only 17 goals and had a conference second-best .99 goals-against average.

In her collegiate career, Landry played in 72 games, including 66 starts for the Lasers. While in net for the Lasers Landry recorded 436 saves, boasting a .800 career save percentage. Landry finishes her career with 14 shutouts to accompany a 1.65 career goals-against average.

Lasell (16-4, 7-0 GNAC) had a successful 2017 season. The Lasers finished as regular season champions, making their first-ever appearance in the GNAC Championship before falling to Saint Joseph's College of Maine 3-0.
