Lasell Track & Field Competes in Reggie Poyau Meet at Brandeis

WALTHAM, Mass. - The Lasell men's and women's track & field teams resumed the indoor season on Saturday by competing at the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis University. While the Lasell T&F team was not at full strength with some athletes not competing in the first meet of the year, the team performed well setting the stage for a successful 2018 season.

In the men's 55 meter dash, freshman Ben Biello (N. Dighton, Mass.) improved on his early season performance in early December in a time of 7.44 with sophomore Brendan Johnson (Plymouth, Mass.) on his heels with a 7.46 mark. In the women's 55 meter dash, sophomore Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) clocked 8.85 to set a good mark to start the season while freshman Hannah Richards (Belfast, Maine) competed in the 55 meter hurdles setting a season best performance of 10.40. Also competing in the sprint events was sophomore Massimo Cugno (Medford, Mass.) in the 200 meter dash finishing in 26.24.

In the middle distance events, sophomore Karli Manship (Pittsfield, Mass.) competed in the Mile event finishing in 6:54.57 and freshman Maggie McGovern (Worcester, Mass.) ran the 400 meter race in 1:03.35. For the men, sophomore Matt Holden (Methuen, Mass.) ran the 800 meter finishing in 2:22:30 and junior Ryan Dalaba (North Granville, N.Y.) competed in the 3000-meter race with a time of 10:08.9.

The Lasell teams will travel to Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. next Sunday, Jan. 21, to compete in the Greater Boston Track Club Invite.
