Lasell University celebrated the Class of 2023 at its 169th undergraduate Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 13.

Lasell University School of Fashion students spent the spring 2023 semester consulting for PUMA, the Boston-based international footwear and apparel giant. In May, they presented their findings and business recommendations at company headquarters to PUMA staff, including more than 10 Lasell alumni currently employed there.

Lasell University students were inducted into national and international professional honor societies in their fields of study this spring, and were acknowleded at Commencement for their membership.

The Lasell University School of Fashion held a celebration on May 10 to honor graduating students and acknowledge the winners of the Christy Proctor Rising Star Award, Faculty Choice Award, and Louise Anne Leader Award for Internship Excellence.

Newton, MA - Last week the Lasell University Athletic Department held their annual Senior Banquet to recongize the graduating class of students. The three awards given out were the Athlete of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and Torchbearer.

On Monday, the GNAC announced their end of the year Track and Field awards, and three Lasers were honored, as well as the men's team.

Lasell University's annual fashion shows, RUNWAY, featured work from 89 student designers and more than 150 models and production staff members. An undergraduate show on Friday, April 28, showcased work across 11 categories, including sweater knits, corsetry, athleisure, and non-textiles. On Saturday, senior designers presented full collections.

The GNAC announced their year end awards on Tuesday, and Lasell had six award winners.

Newton, MA - After a rain out and two changes in venue, the Lasell Lasers Softball team finally got to play their first home playoff game in over 10 years on Wednesday, beating USJ by a score of 8-0. The Lasers are now 25-14-1 on the season, while the Blue Jays season ends at 22-18.

The Lasell Lasers Women's Track and Field team competed at the GNAC Outdoor Championships on Sunday, and despite harsh conditions, won three events and set a new school record. The team finished in fifth place with 75 points.

Lasell University's annual Student Leadership Awards Banquet recognized students, faculty, and staff who have had a significant impact on the Lasell community.

Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers defeated the Johnson & Wales Wildcats in a GNAC Quarterfinal match by a score of 13-5. The win moves the Lasers to 12-6 on the season, while the Wildcats end their season at 10-8.

The Lasell Lasers Baseball team wrapped up their regular season with a pair of wins of Saint Joseph's (Maine). They took game one 5-1 and game two 8-3. The Lasers are now 22-14 on the season and 14-4 in GNAC play. With the two wins they clinched the second seed in the playoffs. The Monks are now 18-21 and 9-9.

Lasell University's collegiate DECA chapter sent 11 team members to the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida, where they competed against more than 500 students from around the country.

The Lasell Lasers won a "home" game on the road on Thursday, defeating Curry as the home team at Curry by a score of 10-8. The Lasers are now 20-14 while the Colonels are now 10-22. This marks the fourth time in school history that the Lasers have won 20 games in a season, also doing it in 2011, 2016, and 2019.

The Lasell Lasers played their last regular season game of the year against the Wentworth Leopards, but their biggest opponent proved to be Mother Nature, as the game ended in a 4-4 tie after a torrential downpour covered the field in water in the seventh. The Lasers are now 24-14-1 while the Leopards are 24-8-1.
